Zangersheide

Kristin Schumacher got her first horse when she was 16 years old. She comes from the village of Thüle (Lower Saxony) and currently lives in Petersdorf. “My grandparents used to have a farm, but I still had to wait a few years for my first horse. I finally got it when I was 16. With the arrival of this horse, we gradually started to redesign the farm. There were boxes for the horses, a riding school and a fenced pasture.” Kristin always put sport first. “I started with the mare Pauline (Sao Paulo x Grundstein x Admiral), with her I jumped at M level. After her sports career she had two more foals.

In 2019, the mare Carlotta came to us at the age of 5. Carlotta descends from Codex One Z x Cristo x Cassini I. The direct mare line of Viola XXIX produces offspring that jump up to 1.25m and the mare L-Natascha has successful offspring that jump up to 1.55m. Carlotta is my absolute dream horse. She has a great character, but also the ability and good reflexes. In 2020 and 2021 she achieved successes in 1.25m jumping with rider Arend Westerholt. Unfortunately, she got an injury in the summer of 2021 and we therefore decided to inseminate her.”

In 2022, Kristin decided to inseminate Carlotta for the second time. “I consulted Antonia Schicketanz-Wilhelm for this. We were looking for a stallion that would give the size and frame, improve the topline and have a very good canter. Competence and performance in the sport and successful offspring were also important to us. The choice quickly fell on Zangersheide and the stallion Cicero Z. He can improve the defects of my mare Carlotta. That is why we combined Carlotta with Cicero Z. Fertilization went very smoothly, Carlotta was immediately pregnant. That means good seed quality for me.”

After a short, uncomplicated birth, the filly Ci Cera Z (Cicero Z x Codex One Z x Cristo) was born on April 21, 2023. "What can I say? We are completely enthusiastic about this great foal. She has a noble head, is confident and confident and looks radiant at us every day. She also has good movements. We plan to keep little Ci Cera Z and we are very curious how she will develop. We can't wait for her to start in the young horse competitions!

This year I will not inseminate Carlotta, after weaning the foal we want to use her again in the sport. But one thing is certain: we will use Zangersheide again. Because the advice and the handling was always top notch!”
