Last weekend, the Hippisch Centrum Exloo hosted the first Zangersheide Foal Championship of the season. The Dutch championship brought together a nice and varied field of participants - neatly divided between mare and stallion foals - which were presented to experienced judges Heinz Meyer and Antonius Schulze-Averdiek. The foals were judged on five well-known and essential criteria: correctness, movement, type, overall impression and dam line.
Filly foals
It kicked off at 10.00 am with the presentation of the fillies. In the end, it was the filly Avanti Marienshof Z who could convince the judges the most. This appealing daughter of Ansingh de Lis Z and Heart Touch was bred by R.C.C. Jorissen. Mother Havanna Marienshof Z is an 8-year-old mare who comes from a strong dam line, including the Grand Prix horses E'Special P.S. (Berlin) by Karl Cook and Vistogrand (Fantaland) by Denis Lynch in the family.
Second place in this series went to Arianne B Z, a breeding product of Jurjan Bloem. This filly descends from our grey stallion Allroad 2000 Z and Gino H. Mother Maya W is out of the mare Morfine de Muze (Elvis Ter Putte) and is thus a half-sister of the grey stallion Qnokke de Muze (Mosito van het Hellehof), one of the Grand Prix horses of Belgian rider Nicola Philippaerts.
Cavallaeria Les Jumeaux Z took third place. Cavallaeria Les Jumeaux was bred by Alexandra Van Haver and is a daughter of Comthago VDL combined with the blood of Chin Chin. Dam Carica Vt Willebeke Z is also the dam of Vago Chin Z (Vagabond de la Pomme), who is currently jumping at 1.50m level with Canadian rider Brock Clermont.
Colts
After the fillies, it was the stallions' turn to show their qualities in Exloo's arena. Victory in this series went to the filly E Vacheron Constantin JRA Z, a son of Ecclestone Z and Vingino bred by Aniek Schuiling. His dam, Dyranda II, is also the dam of the 1.45m horse Idaho WP (Cartano) and a half-sister of Gogotender (Whistler), who also jumped at 1.45m level.

Easton Field Z, bred by Alfons Koerhuis, finished a fine second place in this series for colts. This promising son of Eldorado van de Zeshoek and Chacco Blue is out of Chacana Hero Z, a direct daughter of Panama du Seigneur Z (Darco). We also know Panama du Seigneur Z as the dam of Ben Maher's Tic Tac (Clinton), Vivaldi du Seigneur (Chellano Z) and Alexander Housen's King Of Panama Hero Z(Kassander van 't Roosakker Z), among others.
Third place in this series went to Milkshake v/h Oosterhof Z, a son of Mr Cornet de Regor and Banagro M. This colt was bred by Rob Gijzenberg and was a super nice, correct and, above all, athletic colt.
