Bisquetta captures top five ranking in the CSI5* Grand Prix of Arcadia

While on European soil, all eyes were on the famous Prague Playoffs, this past weekend also saw another round of top-level jumping on American soil! The World Cup stage of Los Angeles was on the programme at Arcadia's Santa Anita Park in California. There, the mare Bisquetta once again showed her class by jumping to a top ranking under the saddle of her rider Laura Kraut at the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup!

The Longines FEI Jumping World Cup on Saturday evening formed the absolute highlight of the weekend in Arcadia, bringing a total of 40 combinations to the start. The 1.60m high base course had a lot of challenges and in the end, seven combinations managed to get through the base course unscathed. One of those seven combinations who managed to join that group was American rider Laura Kraut and her 11-year-old top mare Bisquetta, a daughter of Bisquet Balou C van de Mispelaere and Takashi van Berkenbroeck who was born as Bisquetta Squalls Estate Z to breeder Claire McCarthy-Winters. Kraut and Bisquetta, who had also produced a clear round in the 1.50 m main class on Thursday, also kept it nicely clear in the jump-off and with a finishing time of 36.02 seconds they eventually secured ^4th place in the standings.

Besides Laura Kraut, her compatriot Kent Farrington also managed to qualify for the jump-off with his 11-year-old top mare Toulayna, the daughter of Toulon and Parco who was given the birth name Toulayna van het Bloesemhof Z by breeder Jasper Doucé. Farrington and Toulayna managed to set the third fastest finishing time in 34.72 seconds, but a mistake on the way ultimately kept them off the podium and made them settle for ^sixth place.

Finally, Irish rider James Chawke also managed to jump into the picture again with the 11-year-old mare Daido van 't Ruytershof Z, a daughter of our stallion Dieu Merci van T&L Z and Bamako de Muze from the breeding of Bert van den Branden of Stal 't Ruytershof. Chawke and Daido van 't Ruytershof Z, still good for a win at the three-star competition in Arcadi the week before, rushed to the finish line in 59.46 seconds during the 1.45m class on Friday, taking a handsome^2nd place this time.
