Devil 2000 Z makes his mark at the 2026 German Zangersheide Foal Championships

Last weekend, Hof Brüning in Bruchhausen-Vilsen once again hosted the German Zangersheide Foal Championship. This charming German estate thus provided the setting for this championship for the third time, with many breeders coming to present their foals to our experienced judging panel. A notable feature of this year’s event was the strong representation of our young stallion Devil 2000 Z, whose offspring made a significant mark on the championship.
Mare foals
At 09.00, the filly foals were the first to be expected in the ring. Victory in this class went to Dreamcatcher GP Z, a daughter of Devil 2000 Z and Cornetino, bred by Gestüt Pohlsee. Her dam, Lambada, is a half-sister to the mare Farbenfroh 24 (Uriko), who competed at 1.50m level under the saddle of the Kuwaiti rider Ghazi Al Jeraiwi.
Second place went to the foal Cyra La Vida Z, a daughter of Coeur de Bella Donna and Kazan Z, bred by ZG Hans-Gerd Gräber and Grit Schirrmann. This attractive filly impressed the judges with her modern conformation, correct build and high-quality movements.
The bronze in this class went to Commitment MR Z, a breeding product of Marius Rittstieg that combined the bloodlines of Comme Il Faut with those of Ermitage Kalone. Her dam, Ermine MR, is a half-sister to Komet 306 (Kannan), one of the Grand Prix horses ridden by reigning European Champion Richard Vogel.
Colt foals
After the filly foals, it was the turn of the colt foals to demonstrate their qualities to the judging panel. Devil 2000 Z once again made his mark in this class. The victory went to Dark Taste of Pohlsee GP Z, bringing us back to another breeding product from Gestüt Pohlsee. This son of Devil 2000 Z and Cachas is out of the mare Lady Cachas, who herself competed at 1.40m level under the saddle of the German rider Björn Behrend. Furthermore, Lady Cachas is also a half-sister to the 1.45m horses Canyon (Cancara) and Olga B (Corsari van de Helle).
The silver went to Darius H Z, a son of Drummer 2000 TN Z and Calido I, bred by Zuchtgemeinschaft Franz and Claudia Held. His dam is also the dam of Limited Edition H (Los Angeles), who is currently competing at 1.45m level with the Irish rider Alexander Butler.
Finally,third place went to Feiner Junge Z, a son of For Pleasure and Carrico, bred by the Möller Brothers GbR. His dam, Berta III, has also more than proven her qualities as a broodmare. Among other things, she is the dam of Cornets Lady 4 (Cornet Obolensky), who is currently competing at 1.55m level with the Austrian rider Max Kühner. She has also produced the 1.50m horses Comme Fly With Me VA (Comme Il Faut) and Chevalier 101 (Chaman).
