A few days before the start of the second edition of The Zangersheide International, Sentower Park in Opglabbeek was the setting for the 2nd round of the Belgian Stallion Competition last Saturday. The offspring of our black pearl Dominator 2000 Z again made their mark, as after their good performance in the 1st heat in Lier they also managed to impress in Opglabbeek with their explosive way of jumping.

In the class for the 7-year-old stallions, just like in Lier, we got 2 offspring of Dominator 2000 Z in the top 5. This included a podium place for rider Jenny Pauquet with the stallion Déclic De Fond de Ville Z, a son of Dominator 2000 Z and Indian Gold van Castershoeve who was bred by T.&E. Leveque and who is also approved for Studbook Zangersheide. Pauquet and Déclic De Fond de Ville Z finished in 31.96 seconds in the 2nd phase, securing 2nd place in the standings.

Furthermore, Joris van Den Berg was also able to jump again to a top ranking with the stallion Destiny Van De Kapel Z, a son of Dominator 2000 Z and Gladstone bred by his father Joris van Den Bergh, with whom he was already good for a 2nd place in the standings during the 1st round in Lier. Van Den Bergh and Destiny Van De Kapel Z finished in 32.51 seconds in the 2nd phase and this performance earned them 4th place in the standings this time.

But also in the other age classes the offspring of Dominator 2000 Z once again managed to put their best foot forward. In the 6-yr-old stallions, Brazilian rider Leonardo Acosta Camargos managed to secure a double clear round with the stallion Demonic Z, a breeding product of De Radstake BV which combined the blood of Dominator 2000 Z with that of Vigaro. Acosta Camargos and Demonic Z were good for 14th place in the standings with this performance.

Then again, in the 5-year-old stallions, there were clear rounds for Dutch rider Boy Peels with Daryus van het Poeleind Z (Dominator 2000 Z x Nabab de Rêve - F: Guus Swinnen and Nadine Bradtner) and for Wim Vinckx with Dominquez van Sappenleen Z (Dominator 2000 Z x Numero Uno - B: Sappenleen Stables), while in the 4-year-old stallions, Dimitri Taeijmans with Diego TN Van de Zeshoek Z (Dominator 2000 Z x Quote Capitol - B: Paul Merckx) and Pieter Kenis with Del Camiono Z (Dominator 2000 Z x Conan Z - B: Joeri Adriaenssens) managed a flawless performance.

6-yr-old stallions

In the series for the 6-yr-old stallions, victory was reserved for Gilles van Hamme with the stallion Extreme 111 Z, a son of El Barone 111 Z and Bamako de Muze bred by the Theeuwes family of Stud 111, with whom van Hamme was also good for 4th place in the standings in Lier. Van Hamme and Extreme 111 Z finished in 30.27 seconds in the 2nd phase, putting them just under 1.5 seconds ahead of the competition.

For Daisy Bruyninx with Chadli de Bo Z (Cicero Z x Ustinov - F: Philipp Bormans) there was a 5th place this time after their 6th place in Lier, and Gert Bloemen followed her on the 6th place with the stallion Imagination vh Bloemenhof Z (Ilias vh Vlasmeer x Medaldo - B: Hubert Bloemen). In addition, Wim Vinckx and Vivace vd Kattevennen Z (Vivaldi du Seigneur x Cassini I - B: Otto Boje Schoof) also managed to make it into the top 10 with a 9th place in the standings.
