SV Vroom de la Pomme Z experiences another top weekend in St. Tropez

On French soil, there was again international action to be noted last weekend in sunny St. Tropez, where the final week of the third showjumping tour was scheduled at the Gassin Polo Club. Following their good performance last week, the French seaside resort saw another top weekend for former European Champion Peder Fredricson and his chestnut stallion SV Vroom de la Pomme Z, who managed to claim a leading role in both the Grand Prix Qualifier on Friday and the Grand Prix itself.

After the two-star competition during the opening week, St Tropez switched up a level last weekend and hosted a three-star competition this time. The absolute eye-catchers of the weekend were Swedish rider Peder Fredricson and the 12-year-old stallion SV Vroom de la Pomme Z, a son of Vigo d'Arsouilles and Untouchable from the breeding farm of Geert Baertsoen of Haras de la Pomme. Fredricson and SV Vroom de la Pomme Z competed for the first time in the 1.45m Longines Ranking class on Friday, which immediately earned them a place in the top three. In a class against the clock, they provided a whirlwind round, with a nice^2nd place as the final result.

The best kept Fredricson and SV Vroom de la Pomme Z for Sunday afternoon, however, when they took the CSI3* Grand Prix to their record with great flair. In a jump-off for which 15 out of 60 combinations qualified, they crossed the finish line in 37.33 seconds, outclassing the competition by just under a quarter of a second.

However, in addition to the Grand Prix, a 1.40m class took place on Sunday for the three-star competition, and in it too our blue and yellow colours were present at the top of the standings. For that, Fredricson's compatriot Petronella Andersson and the 9-year-old mare All Minka van het Gerendal Z (Agana van het Gerendal Z x Echo van 't Spieveld), who was bred by the Verhey family of Gerendal Stables in the Netherlands, took care of that. Andersson and All Minka van het Gerendal Z, who also gained a ^9th place in the 1.35m class on Thursday, did not make a mistake in either the^1st or^2nd phase and with a finishing time of 45.26 seconds they finished in ^3rd place.

There were also two top 10 placings in St. Tropez for French rider Nicolas Deseuzes and the 13-year-old stallion Eldorado Sunheup Z (Eldorado van de Zeshoek x Quartz du Chanu - breeder: Carine Groualle). They opened their competition week on Thursday with a ^3rd place in the 1.35m class and jumped to a ^4th place in the 1.40m class a day later.

Then, in the 1.45m Longines Ranking class on Thursday, Frenchman Hugo Breul took the podium with the 10-year-old stallion Kiekeboe Picobello Z (Kannan x Indoctro), from the Ruant family's breeding farm. With a tight and clear round, the duo secured ^3rd place and the corresponding ranking points.

Finally, some Z-horses also stood out during the classes of the two-star competition. For example, during the 1.40m class on Thursday there was a ^4th place for Dutchman Logan Fiechter with the 9-year-old gelding Apphire H Z (Aganix du Seigneur Z x Mr. Blue - breeder: Stal 't Hofstee), during the 1.45m class on Friday a ^9th place for Frenchwoman Adeline Hecart with the also 9-year-old stallion Champion de la Roque Z (Comilfo Plus Z x Coltaire Z - breeder: Spits BV) and during the CSI2* Grand Prix on Saturday also a ^9th place for Frenchwoman Alexa Ferrer with the 10-year-old mare Kasbah Queen Hero Z Kassander van 't Roosakker Z x Erco van 't Roosakker - breeder: Stud Hero).
