Jenson van 't Meulenhof Z and HH Conrad Z sign for Grand Prix success in Deauville

Last weekend, Deauville was all about top-class sport at the Longines Deauville Classic, a prestigious competition that has been on the calendar since 2017 and is now part of the renowned Grand Prix Events. Located a stone's throw from Deauville's iconic beach and elegant promenades, this event has become a fixture in the heart of Normandy. The sporting highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly the CSI4* Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon and with two offspring of our stallions on the podium, it was a particularly successful afternoon for our blue and yellow colours.
For this CSI4* Grand Prix, French course designer Grégory Bodo and his team had once again mapped out a beautiful but very challenging course. The 1.55m high basic course initially proved tough enough, as halfway through the class only one combination managed to finish the round successfully. However, the second part brought improvement and eventually ten combinations managed to advance to the jump-off. One of those ten combinations was Belgian rider Rik Hemeryck and his 11-year-old gelding Inoui du Seigneur, a son of our stallions Jenson van 't Meulenhof Z and Aganix du Seigneur Z bred by Marc Vanlangendonck of La Ferme du Seigneur. As the sixth combination to start, Hemeryck piloted his Inoui du Seigneur safely to the finish in 45.36 seconds, and so the pair convincingly wrote this CSI4* Grand Prix on their record of achievements.
However, Rik Hemeryck and Inoui du Seigneur's victory was not the only blue/yellow success in this CSI4* Grand Prix, as 3rd place was also taken by an offspring of one of our stallions. Making sure of that were Frenchwoman Megane Moissonnier and the 13-year-old stallion Crooner Tame, a breeding product of SCEA Brohler Denis who combined the blood of HH Conrad Z with that of Quaprice du Bois Margot. Moissonnier and Crooner Tame also failed to make a mistake in that jump-off and managed to stop the clock in 49.23 seconds.
In 5th place we saw Belgian rider Gudrun Patteet and the 10-year-old mare Sea Coast Chica V.V. Z (Comme Il Faut x Chacco Blue), where the two letters V refer to breeders Evelyne and Colin Van Vreckom. Patteet and Sea Coast Chica V.V. Z managed a chrono time of 45.67 seconds which entitled them to2nd place, but a mistake on the way ultimately kept them off the Grand Prix podium.
On Saturday, German rider Kendra Claricia Brinkop managed to take top spot with the 10-year-old gelding Surprising Dream S.H.O. Z, a son of Stakkato and Carthago from the breeding farm of Dutch rider Gert Jan Bruggink and his Austrian partner Pia-Luise Aufrecht. In the 1.45m class against the clock, Brinkop and Surprising Dream S.H.O. Z crossed the finish line in 55.22 seconds and this performance resulted in a handsome2nd place.
Also in this class, Belgian rider Bart Clarys was one of the prize winners with the 9-year-old mare Ma Muze van 't Craeynest Z (Marius Claudius x Malito de Rêve - Breeder: Stal 't Craeynest BVBA). Clarys and Ma Muze van 't Craeynest Z, also good for 3rd place in the 1.40m class on Thursday during the opening day, finished in 55.90 seconds, which was good for 5th place.
Furthermore, French rider Alix Ragot also managed to jump into the prizes twice with the 8-year-old mare Serafina Dbh Z (Stakkato x Ramiro Z), bred by De Bruyn. Both in the 1.40m class on Thursday and Friday, Ragot and Serafina Dbh Z did not make any mistakes and this earned them a 3rd place in the ranking twice.
Finally, Swiss rider Jane Richard also had a strong weekend in Deauville with the 10-year-old mare Aequitus vh Bergerhof Z (Andiamo Z x Limbus), who was born to breeder Frank Damiaens. During the 1.35m class on Thursday, Richard and Aequitus vh Bergerhof Z started their competition with a great2nd place and a day later they managed to secure another 4th place during the 1.40m class.
