Untouched LB shows his class again

The World Cup season of the Western European League was already ready for its fourth leg last weekend, and for that they went to Germany for another edition of the Stuttgart German Masters. Christian Ahlmann was also present there and together with the stallion Untouched LB he once again produced a particularly strong performance!

The Longines FEI Jumping World Cup formed the closing event of four days of international show jumping at the highest level on Sunday afternoon in Stuttgart. The team of course designers led by Germany's Christa Jung had laid out quite a tough course for this fourth World Cup of the season. The basic course consisted of 13 obstacles with no fewer than 17 jumps, with the time allowed also proving to be a major problem. Of the forty combinations that took their chances, seven managed to keep their cool and advance to the decisive jump-off.

However, it could have been as many as ten... Three combinations managed to keep all the rails in the scoops, but incurred one or more penalties for exceeding the time allowed. One of those three were Christian Ahlmann and the 9-year-old stallion Untouched LB, the son of United Touch S and Cornet Obolensky. The duo, who also came on strong at the LGCT Rome Grand Prix last month, left the ring with 2 penalties for time, leaving them to settle for 9^th place.

Moreover, on Friday Christian Ahlmann had also jumped into the picture with 14-year-old grey mare Blueberry, a daughter of HH Conrad Z and Creve Coeur bred in France by SARL Haras de Hus. In the 1.45m class against the clock, Ahlmann and Blueberry crossed the finish line in 60.81 seconds after a clear round, securing a nice 3^rd place.

The main class on Friday, however, was the 1.55m class with jump-off and there was blue/yellow success in that too. For that, Swedish rider Peder Fredricson and his 11-year-old chestnut stallion SV Vroom de la Pomme Z, the son of Vigo d'Arsouilles and Untouchable who was born to breeder Geert Baertsoen of Haras de la Pomme. In a jump-off for which six combinations managed to qualify, Fredricson and SV Vroom de la Pomme Z once again provided a flawless performance, which earned them 4^th place, just like during the 1.50m class on Thursday.

Earlier in the evening, however, a second 1.55m class was also on the programme for the riders of the five-star competition. In it, Belgian rider Rik Hemeryck was one of the prize winners with his 11-year-old gelding Inoui du Seigneur, a son of our stallions Jenson van 't Meulenhof Z and Aganix du Seigneur Z. Hemeryck and Inoui du Seigneur crossed the finish line in 70.64 seconds in this speed class, which was finally good for 6^th place.

Finally, there were also two Z-horses in Stuttgart who managed a 5^th place. German rider Sophie Hinners and the 9-year-old chestnut mare Iron Dames Kaleni Jo (ex Kaleni Jo SV Z - Kannan x Indoctro - Breeder: Stal Verhoeven) jumped to 5^th place during the 1.55m main class on Saturday, while her compatriot Michael Jung and the 8-year-old gelding Fischerheros Z (ex Heros vd Windelsteen Z - Hotspot x Odermus R - Breeder: Peter Hofman) then took 5^th place in the 1.45m class on Thursday.
